Chapter 1Snowmelt

【Gu · The Single Man】The rain in Chengdu fell all day long, a fine lewd drizzle that set the mood rather nicely. I'd come to know Brother Lu and Man through the circle—strictly speaking, I was captivated by Man first, and became one of her many fans. A model's figure at one meter seventy-five, long slender straight legs, a wasp waist and a full round bottom, plus that cultured elegance, that quiet orchid-like poise—who wouldn't fall for her?

【Lu · The Husband】On his side, Brother Lu had inoculated me in advance: this time might not come off, Man had never really "played" before, so I could only prepare fully and keep an even mind. He and Man had thoroughly discussed beforehand every detail of the meeting, her interests and taboos, the games and the topics. Bringing his own wife to meet a strange man—the tangle in Brother Lu's heart was invisible to outsiders: pride, nerves, and a thread of secret anticipation he wouldn't even let himself dwell on.

【Gu】Brother Lu met me at the elevator: "You look a lot sharper than your photos!" That one affirmation added a notch to my confidence. Once inside the room, I finally laid eyes on the Man I'd dreamed of—the very goddess I'd imagined. She greeted me the way a gracious hostess greets a guest, a warmth pitched just right and shot through with calm; for a dazed moment I thought I really was visiting their home, and a sense of familiarity welled up—yet my heart couldn't help fluttering with unease.

【Gu】After the pleasantries we settled in. Big Brother and I played off each other, tossing out one prepared topic after another, and I thickened my skin to show off the bartending I'd picked up just two days before. Man showed interest now and then, sometimes just listening to me and Big Brother chat, calm and polite, and my heart started to hang in the air again.

【Gu】On to the games. Man carefully weeded out the punishment cards; Big Brother and I watched slack-jawed as sixty cards dwindled to fewer than ten, groaning inwardly. The game I'd prepared was called "Tongue-Tied by You"—each person sticks a card on their forehead, blind to its content while the other can see it, and the two guide each other into performing the action on the card. Man had "As Agreed" stuck to her forehead; Big Brother and I dug pit after pit for her, and she answered "sure," "mm-hm," "fine," and finally even "got it"—IQ maxed out, how were we supposed to play this? Big Brother and I lost round after round, princess-carrying each other, stroking, stripping off clothes, penalized every which way—miserable, but at least the mood was gradually loosening up.

【Gu】After losing yet again, I said I didn't want to carry Big Brother anymore and asked Man to play along with me. Perhaps out of pity, I finally got to hold Man; as I stroked her I slowly moved my hand toward that expanse of snowy white below her neck—only for her to brush it off, cool and unruffled. Undaunted, I psyched myself up. Man finally lost a few rounds too, and beyond the polite mutual stroking she shed several pieces of clothing, down to her underwear—then laughed and said she was done, and put every shed garment back on again.

【Man · The Wife】Man laughed and put her clothes back on, but her fingertips were trembling. She had tried—for Brother Lu, and for that indescribable curiosity in her own heart. Yet when it actually came to standing naked before a strange man, she was still afraid. She could feel the urgency in those two men's eyes, and she could feel, somewhere inside her body, something that had never once awakened being coaxed out, little by little, by that urgency. She hit the brakes on herself. But she knew, even she knew, that she hadn't stamped that brake down all the way.

【Lu】Big Brother and I were frantic inside—thinking, isn't this all going to waste? But on the surface we feigned calm and launched a heart-to-heart offensive. Man said she was already trying to ease into it, but still wasn't used to being naked with a stranger. Big Brother and I voiced understanding and respect, yet without giving up, we coaxed her every which way, and at last Man agreed to let me spa her legs a little. Brother Lu knew that this one phrase—"leg spa"—was the door easing off its latch. He shot me a look and went with Man to the shower. This was already a big step forward. Overjoyed, I got everything ready: dimmed the lights, laid out a disposable sheet, put on some soothing music, and quietly waited.
