【Lu Yao · Wife】
The game was my idea.
It was a week before the October holiday, midnight, and Wei Chuan was scrolling that forum on his phone again. He landed on a post titled “While My Wife Was Asleep.” His face went red as he read. When he finished, he laid the phone face-down on his stomach and said nothing for a long time.
I slid the phone out of his hand and read it from top to bottom. The post was made up; I could tell at a glance. But I couldn’t shake the picture: a woman asleep on a hotel bed, something covering her head, a strange man standing at the bedside.
“You want this?” I asked him.
He couldn’t look at me. “I was just reading.”
“You want someone to come in while I’m asleep.”
His Adam’s apple bobbed. He didn’t dare say yes, and he didn’t say no.
I handed the phone back and rolled over, my back to him. It was a long time before I spoke. “I won’t sleep.”
“What?”
“I won’t actually be asleep,” I said. “I’ll fake it. I’ll drink soda water and act drunk. You cover my head so I can’t see anything, so I never know what he looks like. You make it clear to him that I’m awake, that I’m pretending, but he has to treat me like I’m really out. He doesn’t talk to me. He doesn’t say my name. You film it. If he does anything I don’t like, I’ll say ‘thirsty,’ and he stops, and you send him away.”
When I finished that whole speech, I was stunned at myself. I had never said that many words in bed in my life.
Behind me, Wei Chuan had stopped breathing. After a long while he wrapped his arms around me from behind, and I felt him, rock-hard, pressing against my ass.
“How long have you been thinking about this?” he asked.
“Longer than you,” I said.

I found him on the forum. Twenty-seven, named Deng Yu, a local guy who sold cars. We chatted for two weeks. He sent me his health checkup results, sent pictures of his arms and his waist, never his face. I laid out the rules for him one by one: my wife is awake. She’s faking sleep, and this is her game, her idea. Once you’re through the door, she’s dead asleep. No talking. No saying her name. The moment she says “thirsty,” you stop, get dressed, and leave. He replied: “Got it. Sis-in-law knows how to play.”
Lu Yao had me screenshot those exact lines and show her. She read them, nodded, and said, “Fine. As long as he gets it.”
It was a Saturday. We booked a king room on the fourteenth floor of the Wanda Realm. We had dinner downstairs. Lu Yao ordered a Long Island iced tea, and when the waiter brought it over I gave it a look. I’d arranged it with the bar beforehand: not a drop of liquor, just cola and lemonade.
She drank it slowly. Halfway through she started the act: eyes half-lidded, words dragging at the ends, leaning on my shoulder and giggling. She played it so well that the next table over kept staring at us.
At nine-twenty my phone buzzed.
“Parked, bro.” “What floor.”
One arm around Lu Yao, I typed with the other hand: “We just got a cab. Twenty minutes.”
“Where’s the woman.” He’d mistyped; he meant to ask where Sis-in-law was.
“I’ll change her into her nightie in a bit,” I typed. “Cover her head, then you just stand by the bed, straddle her face and squeeze her tits lol.”
“Oh right, I gotta film it.”
Lu Yao was leaning on my shoulder, eyes closed, but the corners of her mouth were curled up. She was peeking at my phone.
【Deng Yu · The Guest】
I was sitting in my car in the parking garage staring at those two lines, and I went hard instantly, so hard it ached against my pants.
“Holy shit, just thinking about it I’m hard!” I typed. “Ha! No problem. Just blur my face.”
“Huh? Fair enough,” he replied. “Then I’ll get in close on the tits lol, try to keep you out of frame.”
I sat in the car another twenty minutes. He said “We’re in the cab,” then “19 minutes,” then “Don’t come into the hotel yet, don’t let her see you. I’ll get her settled and come down for you.”
I replied: “Yes sir, standing by, rubbing my hands.”
I really was rubbing my hands. My palms were soaked with sweat. He’d made it clear: Sis-in-law was awake, and faking sleep was what she wanted. But the more I knew, the more nervous I got. In a little while I’d have to act like she was asleep, and she’d have to act like I didn’t exist, and neither of us could crack first. I’d done a few of these setups. I’d never done one like this.
At nine forty-two I sent another: “Don’t let Sis-in-law catch a chill and wake up.”
He replied: “If she wakes up, you sneak out quick, don’t panic, lol.” I knew what he meant by “wakes up”: if she said those two words, the game was over and I had to go.
I sent back “OK!”, put on my white baseball cap, and checked myself in the rearview mirror. I looked like a delivery guy.

At ten-oh-five I helped Lu Yao into room 1406.
The second the door closed she dropped the act. She straightened up, twisted out of my arms, kicked off her heels, took two barefoot steps across the carpet, and looked back at me. Her eyes were frighteningly bright.
“Where’s my nightie?” she said.
I took it out of the bag. A black silk slip, short, barely reaching the tops of her thighs. She’d bought it herself last month and never once worn it.
Right in front of me she took off her dress, unhooked her bra, slid her panties down, and stood naked by the bed while she pulled the slip over her head. The silk slid down her skin, and her nipples poked out two little points.
“No panties?” I asked.
“Who cares whether a sleeping woman’s wearing any.” She climbed onto the bed, lay down, and pulled the covers up to her waist. She thought about it, then kicked them off again. “Too hot.”
I texted Deng Yu: “In the room. Gonna get her set up lol.”
He replied: “okok!”
I took out the black silk scarf and wound it twice over her eyes, then tugged it down so it covered half her face, leaving only her nose and mouth. Her breath rose and fell under the silk, faster than usual.
“Can you see?”
“No,” she said. Her voice shook a little. “Wei Chuan.”
“Mm.”
“Don’t go far. Stay where I can hear you.”
I stroked her hair. “I’m not going anywhere.”
At ten-fourteen I texted Deng Yu: “Coming down for you. What are you wearing?”
“On my way bro, I’ve got a white cap. I’m in the lobby.”
Before I closed the door I looked back. One bedside lamp was on, warm yellow. She lay in the middle of the bed, black silk over her head, the black slip rucked up to the tops of her thighs, one leg straight, the other slightly bent, as if she were really asleep.
Only I knew she was waiting.
